History

1985 Domino's Pizza Japan signs a license agreement with Domino's Pizza U.S.
It opens its first store in Ebisu, Tokyo and garners much media coverage for “pizza delivery” business,
a novelty at the time in Japan.
1987 It makes a world record for opening sales with new store opening in Yoga.
1988 Osaka office is established in Kita-ward of Osaka city, paving way for business in the Kansai region.
Domino's first store in Kansai region opens in Shin-Osaka.
1989 Domino's Pizza Japan is awarded the Super Eagle Award as the best franchisee from the Domino's U.S.
1991 Ebisu store makes a new Japan record for monthly sales.
1992 Magome store makes a new Japan record for weekly sales.
Domino's Japan purchases the Domino's chain in Hawaii advancing into the overseas business.
1993 The 100th store of Domino's Pizza Japan opens in Chitose-Funabash – a Celebration Party is held with the Domino's founder Tom Monaghan.
1994 The company name changes from Y. Higa Corporation to Higa Industries.
The head office moves from Hibiya to Kamiya-cho, Tokyo.
The new store in Higashi Totsuka makes the world record for opening sales.
1995 Nagoya office is established in Naka-ward of Nagoya city, paving way for business in the Chukyo region.
Domino's first store in Chukyo region opens in Mizuho.
1996 Kyushu office is established in Hakata-ward of Fukuoka city, paving way for business in the Kyushu region.
1997 Domino's first store in Kyushu region opens in Takeshita.
1998 Tohoku office is established in Miyagino-ward of Sendai city, paving way for business in the Tohoku region.
Domino's first store in Tohoku region opens in Miyagino.The 200th store in Japan opens in Tanashi, Tokyo.
2000 Head office moves from Kamiya-cho to Iwamoto-cho, Tokyo.
2001 The Domino's Azabu, Tokyo, makes the new Japan record for daily sales.
2004 Franchise business begins.
2010 The company name changes from Higa Industries to Domino's Pizza Japan, Inc.
